Captain Andrew Porter

Captain Porter enlisted into CAMUS in 2003 and was assigned to the REME Band. 

He attended the Bandmaster (BM) Course at Kneller Hall in 2008 and his first assignment as BM in 2011 was to the Band of the King’s Division. Between 2011 and 2019 Captain Porter held numerous posts as WO1 Bandmaster, including a memorable four years with the Band of the Irish Guards. Captain Porter has also seen overseas deployment on Op HERRICK 18, 2013 – 2014, assigned to ANOA, Kabul, as Course Development Warrant Officer and LEC manager.

From 2018 – 2019 Captain Porter worked briefly as SO3 Ops Training for HQ HDiv Bands and was then appointed Officer Commanding Band of the Prince of Wales, as a Warrant Officer Class 1. After receiving the RCAM Senior Soldier of the Year Award, he was Commissioned into RCAM as Officer Commanding British Army Band Tidworth in April 2021.
