Warrant Officer Class 1 Daniel Shave
Warrant Officer Class 1 (WO1) Daniel Shave joined the British Army in 2009. After completing Basic Training at Army Training Centre, Pirbright, he subsequently attended the Foundation Course at the Royal Military School of Music. On completion of training, he was assigned to The Band of the Royal Corps of Signals in January 2010.
In October 2013, he was selected for the Bandmaster’s Course at the Royal Military School of Music, completing his studies in July 2015.
On completion of the Bandmaster Course, WO1 Shave was appointed as Bandmaster of the Band of the King’s Division. Subsequently he has served as Bandmaster of The Band of the Prince of Wales’ Division and the Royal Artillery Band.
In 2019, he was appointed to the Headquarters, Royal Corps of Army Music to lead the Corps Engagement Team, responsible for recruiting the next generation of Army Musicians. On promotion to WO1, in September 2021 he was appointed Bandmaster of the Band of the Household Cavalry. In September 2023, he was appointed as Bandmaster and Acting Officer Commanding of the Band of the Welsh Guards.
